Why I'm Running:
Serving Our Community
I am running to serve our community for the District 3 seat on the MSD of Lawrence Township Board of Education. Short story - "to serve & give back." Longer story - I am the daughter of a lifelong educator (my mother) and the product of public education. My family and I are 18 year residents of Lawrence Township with 3 children currently in the district.
However, I didn't fully experience the impact of public education until my youngest child was born with special needs. Thanks to the amazing work of Lawrence Township educators and staff, my child (who entered preschool without the ability to walk) was not only walking 4 months into the school year, but thriving and learning in a classroom of her peers! I have also had the privilege of witnessing thousands of students receive quality education and supports thanks to our amazing staff. Since I was appointed to serve Lawrence Township Schools in 2021, I have been honored to be a part of the decision making to: address learning loss due to the COVID Pandemic, oversee Blue Ribbon projects to update our 21 school buildings, remain fiscally responsible to our taxpayers (no operating referendum), achieve a graduation rate of 95% of our high school seniors (2023), and many other great achievements. I desire to continue serving and humbly ask for your support November 5th so we can continue to work for improved outcomes of all students.
Priorities & Goals
School Board elections matter! The local school is part of the village that helps us raise our children to prepare them for the future. My priorities for a 2nd 4 year term on the LT School Board are:
1 - continued advocacy & lobbying our legislators for public schools
2 - connecting additional community partners to LT
3 - special needs education & accommodations for students & staff
4 - fiscal responsibility to our stakeholders
5 - supporting the work of our educators
